Hamilton By Design

 

Hamilton By Design is a company I started in 2002 today the company focuses on providing Mechanical / Structural design drafting services along with mechanical fitting services to the mining industry.

The business peaked around 2012 where it employed 5 people at its peak, today I am the only employee and there is factory on the NSW Central Coast with full machining capabilities from Turning, Milling, Grinding, EDM and Welding Capabilities. Having said that I spend most of my time on a fly in fly out roster in Mount Isa.

What I have Learnt from owning my own business:

• The importance of team harmony
• How to be a better team player
• Having a greater focus on delivering and at a higher standard
• Being able to differentiate myself and my company from others.

What would I like to focus on in the future?

• Robotic Welding and Robotics in general.
• Automation in Design Drafting.
• Rules Based Designs and modelling.

I do have the vision of running and growing the business again at some point in the future. The next steppingstone for me is to become a certified practicing engineer I seek opportunities that would support that goal. Moreover, an opportunity would need mutually beneficial key transferable skills that i could offer would be yet not limited to:
